A handy checklist of the plants that are dangerous to dogs

A fully bloomed garden looks beautiful in the sunshine, but certain plants and flowers can be toxic to dogs if consumed.

Check the list below to make sure your growing garden is totally dog-safe.

Note: If eaten, these plants can cause stomach upset in your dog, which will typically be shown by vomiting and diarrhoea. If you suspect that your dog has eaten any of these toxic plants, head to your vet as soon as possible.

  1. Another to look out for is Lavender. Although not normally harmful if ingested in large amounts this can also cause vomiting, scratching etc. Lavender also attracts a large numbers of bees so another point to be wary of. Thanks for the tip on the others!
